Pensacola, FL – February 11, 2016 – MULTISPORT PERFORMANCE INSTITUTE (MPI), a Florida-based multisport coaching company founded in 2010, has expanded its coaching roster with the addition of Coach Chris Palmquist of Geneva, Illinois; Coach Ben Dillon of Covington, Louisiana; and Coach Brad Noble of Atlanta, Georgia. Head Coach Mark Sortino recently earned his USAT Level III coaching certification, achieving the top triathlon coaching standard.
The team of coaches, located throughout the United States, offers expertise and coaching credentials in triathlon, swimming, cycling, running and strength/fitness. Among the coaches are certified race officials and certified race directors, offering a broad base of knowledge and experience in the sport.
Head Coach Chris Palmquist is a USAT Level III and Youth/Junior Coach and a USAC Level II Coach with 18 years of coaching experience. She is a Team USA Paratriathlon Coach, the Head Coach for the National Champion MMTT Youth Triathlon Team, and she coaches training camps for USAT Paratriathlon, USAT Juniors, Challenged Athletes Foundation and Dare2Tri. She is a twelve-time IRONMAN finisher.
Coach Ben Dillon is a USA Triathlon Level I Certified Coach and Race Director and a CrossFit Level 1 and CrossFit Endurance Certified Coach. He is a US Navy Veteran who served 10 years as a Naval Aircrewman and Aviation Rescue Swimmer Instructor. He raced successfully at the XTERRA USA Championships and Worlds 2012-2014 and was the SE Region Champion in 2013 & 2014. Coach Ben is the President of SOML Racing.
Coach Brad Noble is a USA Triathlon Level I Certified Coach, US Navy Veteran, certified Firefighter/Paramedic, and Registered Nurse. He is an active and successful competitor through iron-distance triathlons and marathons.
Head Coach Mark Sortino, CEO and co-founder of Team MPI, was recently certified as a USA Triathlon Level III Coach. He is also a USA Cycling Level II Coach, F.I.S.T. certified bike fitter, and certified USAT Race Director who has been the Head Coach of Team USA Paratriathlon since 2012. Coach Mark is a US Veteran having served 20 years in the US Navy as a Naval Flight Officer and is a graduate of the US Naval Academy. He is a 16-time IRONMAN and 3-time Kona finisher.
Continual improvement among athletes and coaches is a hallmark of Team MPI. Other new certifications earned in 2015 include: Coach Mark Turner – IRONMAN Certified Coach; Coach Amanda Leibovitz – USA Cycling Level 3 and CC-AASP (Prov.) for sports psychology; and Coach Jay Weber – ITU Level 2 – CTO.
