Single Day and Long Course Multi-Day Camps added to event schedule
Pensacola, FL – June 28, 2011 – MULTISPORT PERFORMANCE INSTITUTE (MPI), a leading provider of multisport coaching, training camps, clinics, specialized services and events, today announced the addition of two new training camps to their schedules of events.
On Saturday, August 6th, MPI will hold a Single Day Training Camp at the Portofino Island Resort, on Pensacola Beach, FL. MPI’s Single Day camps offer a concise, focused program to triathletes of all levels – built on MPI’s core coaching platform of Training, Racing, Recovery, Wellness, Mental Preparation, and Nutrition. The Camp program includes a series of presentations, in addition to a group swim, ride and run.
Multisport Performance Institute’s new Multi-Day camp is the Long Course Training Camp, to be held September 16th through 18th in Panama City, FL. The host hotel is the Boardwalk Beach Resort. Athletes will have an opportunity to experience the entire Panama City course swim, bike and run course segments over a three-day camp, featuring MPI’s exclusive program of presentations and group training. TeamMPI’s coaches, Mark Sortino and John Murray, are USA Triathlon Certified and have more than 19 years of combined triathlon racing and training experience, including the Ironman™ World Championship in Kona, Hawaii. Coach Mark Sortino returns to Kona this fall, having qualified at IM Texas, 4th in his AG with a 9:52.
In addition to the new camps, MPI’s recently announced Portofino Sunset Tri Series held its first race on Thursday June 23rd. An immediate success, both the debut race, and the upcoming second series race on July 21st, sold out. Future series races take place on Thursday August 4th and 18th. All races are being held at the Portofino Island Resort, on Pensacola Beach, with a start time of 6:30PM. The race distance is a Super Sprint, comprised of a 300 yard swim, a 7.5 mile bike ride, and a 1.5 mile run.
